Child & Adolescent Therapy

Dr. Anderer’s dual training in clinical and school psychology allows her to appreciate the complex interaction between cognitive and emotional development. Because children spend such a large portion of their time in school, their experiences in the classroom often have a significant impact on their views of the world and of themselves. By understanding the learning and emotional needs of children of different ages, Dr. Anderer can tailor intervention strategies that help to support children experiencing a wide variety of stressors.

Dr. Anderer’s practice includes treatment of children with a wide variety of challenges including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Divorce/Separation
  • Learning problems
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Eating Disorders

While Dr. Anderer draws from a variety of intervention strategies, her overall approach tends to focus on the child or adolescent’s way of interpreting and relating to the world around her. This interpersonal dynamic approach assists the child or adolescents in better understanding their own emotions and perspectives and how these affect them and their relationships with others
